The relationship of space to a painting is completely natural. The painted area, that is the assumed area of canvas, conveys the space to the spectator in an illusionary form. To thematise space is, to an extent, a function of the painting. With respect to the centre of gravity of various considerations, such a dogma cannot be accepted as universally valid. In any case, it can however be generally said that paintings mediate space, whether they depict a space, or whether a painting has been created on them.
The laws of constructing a painting transform the space into their own image and shape it freely according to the format or painter’s ideas.
The series depicts reality manipulated multiple times, through which works of art transform its original focal point into their own peculiar reality.
“An inability of a painting to capture reality” is, in the final effect, concerned with the question of What is a painting, prototype of a work of art, and seeks live relationships to its multi-layeredness and construction.
