THE AWARD

MISSION STATEMENT

The goal of the Chimera Art Award is to raise international visibility for fine artists (under 40). The award supports contemporary art that contributes to a better understanding of our time. The juried selection is based on artists' portfolios.

The award was created by Chimera-Project, with sponsorship from Works.io. Chimera-Project is a program gallery in Budapest with an international orientation. The gallery program is built on curated, thematic exhibitions, that provide space for meaningful discourse in contemporary art.

Reflecting on the art award format itself, Chimera-Project additionally opens a dialogue on selection criteria in contemporary art.  read more...
